Therapy is personal. The fit matters.

You  want  a therapist  who  understands  and  validates  your  experience  while  also  helping  you  see  what  may  be  difficult  to  recognize  on  your  own.   My  style  Is  warm,  curious,  direct,  and  deeply  engaged.    I  believe  patterns  that  bring  us  to  therapy  developed  for  meaningful  reasons-  and  that  lasting  change  becomes  possible  when  we  understand  what  those  patterns  are  protecting.

I graduated from The State University of NY College at Buffalo with a Bachelors in Social Work, BSW.  I went on to complete my Masters in Social Work, MSW at The University of South Carolina. I became licensed as a therapist in 2004 and have helped countless individuals and couples heal and grow ever since. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor and I provide supervision for those pursuing licensure in SC.

I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA-Approved Consultant  with advanced training in Attachment Focused EMDR.    I  am  also  a  Somatic  Experiencing  Practitioner  (SEP).    My  individual  work  integrates  attachment,  somatic  therapy,  parts  work,  interpersonal  neurobiology,  and  principles  from  Coherence  Therapy.

I am  Certified  in  Emotionally  Focused  Therapy (EFT) and  consider  myself  an  EFT  purest  when  it  comes  to  treating  couples,  as  I  find  this  modality  most  efficient  in  assisting  couples  in  their  quest  for  stable,  satisfying  relationships.    I  have  additional  couples  therapy  training  in  the  Gottman Method, and Prepare-Enrich.

I  welcome  clients  of  diverse  racial,  ethnic,  cultural,  religious,  socioeconomic,  sexual-orientation,  and  gender-identity  backgrounds.    I  am  an  affirming  provider  to  LGBTQIA+  individuals  and  couples  and  am  committed  to  creating  a  space  where  clients  can  bring  their  full  selves  into  the  therapy  room.

Outside  of  the  therapy  room,  I’m  an  introvert  who  loves  antiquing  with  my  husband ,  cheering  for  my  daughters  on  the  volleyball  court,  reading  psychological  thrillers,  and  enjoying  a  really  good  cup  of  coffee.    I  value  warmth,  honest,  humor,  and  genuine  human  connection-  and  those  parts  of  me  naturally  come  into  the  way  I  practice  therapy.

If  you  are  looking  for  therapy  that  is  compassionate,  collaborative,  and  willing  to  go  beneath  the  surface,  we  may  be  a  good  fit.    I  would  be  honored  to  learn  more  about  what  brings  you  here  and  help  you  decide  whether  working  together  feels  right.
